The Kamyaak community is setting an example in taking action for the well-being, dignity, and empowerment of disadvantage communities by locals, for locals and the world. In order to find solutions for challenges posed by climate change, social justice, poverty, and exodus.
We think that communities can contribute positively to today's challenges. Cultural exchange (sharing of experiences, expertise, and knowledge) between individuals is one of our main focuses.
With the project Kamyaak Village, we are working towards understanding other perspectives in the conception of development (environmentally, socially, and culturally) in Africa.
KAMYAAK VILLAGE IS A PLACE WHICH LETS US RETHINK AND REDISCOVER OUR OWN RICHNESS.
Sleep in eco-domes, work in market gardening, discover agroforetry and recharge your batteries in a place where the notion of time changes. During immersions you will participate in the various activities on site, such as agro-ecology, the manufacture of natural soaps, the production of touba coffee, or the natural fabric dyeing workshop. We build compost toilets, which are perfectly suited for the environment as well as culture in Senegal. About 15 tree are planted around the Treebog. Tree roots feed on feces and urine and produce much more fruit. Treebogs can accepts the wash water people use here instead of toilet paper. There is no need to handle or move feces. There is no need to seperate urine and feces, all water, organic matter and nutrients stay in the Treebog and are available to plants and trees.
